Turkey comes the third in world pepper production. In our country, pepper is grown both in open areas and in green houses. As well as the local market, it has been exported to Central and North European countries in recent years. Pepper, in whose export Turkey comes the fourth in the world, is mainly grown in the Mediterranean Region. Cities with highest production rates are; Antalya, Bursa, Icel, Hatay and Samsun. Pepper types that are grown and exported in our country are mostly improved F1 pepper seeds. Production is made from various types belonging to different local and foreign companies. These types are; long green pepper, banana pepper, big red pepper, sweet bell pepper and conic pepper.
